I didn't do well with the Drawing per Day thing, and I did even worse with the Painting per Day thing, so I've hit upon a new thing, here's hoping it'll stick. I'm going to try and do a picture for every book I read. This one is the Secret Life of Bees, by Sue Monk Kidd. It's a really powerful book with a lot of imagery. But enough book review. I wanted this to be all roughed up and gnarly and I hope I don't offend anyone with my Byzantine-esque Mary.

As in, you know, the best part. It's very clever.
There are some kinks that need to be worked out, and the 'sketches' bit is just the stuff I liked from this blog, but if you need to kill 10 minutes, this is just the thing! And with a couple of extra minutes, you could tell me what you think, so I can attempt to make it better! If anybody has ideas around making the background fit, please tell me!

Hi all! So I've been off having adventures in New York and Ottawa. Both lovely towns, much fun. If you do happen to find yourself in Manhattan without agenda, I'd HIGHLY recommend checking out the Animazing Gallery in Soho (corner of Greene and Broome). There's too much awesome in that building. We just kind of wandered in, not really expecting anything, and BOOM! drawings by Charles Shulz! boards by Dr. Seuss! Tim Burton scribbles! Paintings by Eyvind Earle!! Other amazing stuff! Too Cool!

So after I came back, I was watching me some Journey to Babel Star Trek, and just caught the bit with Spock's mom telling Bones how Spock used to have a teddy bear. Hence the sketch.

Hi chums! I've been going to this life drawing class in toronto, and after 5 months of not life drawing, my sense of proportion is Non Existant! but we soldier on! Picture number 2 is a painting of a fish. not very exciting. Picture number 3 is Spock. I've been watching a lot of Star Trek TOS and Loving it.

Los Picture Dump! As to whether 4 pictures makes a dump, I don't actually know, but it's been a while and I have more than one. In other news, either my tablet is broke or I am too thick to properly work the pen sensitivity ..... I chose broke tablet. Pic. numero 3 is what I thought our roofers were going to look like. They turned out rather smaller and Mexican.. ah well. Pic. numero 2 is a few people in the Eaton`s centre before they started giving me hostile looks (and one old man came up and started telling me a reeeallly pointed story about how he got drawn once, unexpectedly by some really rude bloke. I was v. v. sympathetic while trying to give him equally pointed "go away you creepy old man" vibes.
But I digress.. with any luck I should become more regular about this.

So, I found this very interesting video on youtube by Greenpeace, about the Chernobyl, which you can check out HERE
It's horribly depressing and, I think, very frightening, but it should get people thinking about nuclear power and whether we should be using it even as much as we currently are.
Chernobyl was a terrible disaster and we should be making sure that nothing like it could ever happen again
